Alan Green

Presenter bio

Alan Green is a Senior Research Fellow at the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre (SBRC), University of Wollongong, and 2025 Australian Research Council Industry Fellowship recipient. He has a keen interest in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and heat transfer, which has given him the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers in the Netherlands, UK, USA and Portugal. 

Alan’s current research focuses on technical aspects of building thermal and hygric performance, and the impact of bushfires on buildings. Through the combination of experiments and the development of mathematical models, Alan’s research builds on our understanding of heat, air and moisture transport in buildings, and develops the practical design methods needed to build and retrofit low-carbon and climate-resilient buildings.
