Presenter bio

Katie is Acting Assistant Director in the NatHERS Assessments, Data and Software Section, where she leads initiatives to enhance national home energy rating tools within the Energy Performance Division at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

Holding a Master of Design Science in Sustainable Design, awarded the Dean’s List of Excellence in Academic Performance for Outstanding Achievement, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from the University of Sydney, Katie brings deep expertise and a strong commitment to advancing sustainability in the built environment.

In this presentation, Katie will present updates to airtightness measurements in NatHERS energy assessments, including displaying a designs’ modelled permeability (m³/hr/m² @ 50 Pa) in NatHERS software and New Homes Certificates to support improved building performance modelling.
